Guest Book Vol. 5Date: 26 Apr 2005 Comment: 500 Thannk you for this website. I visited Zanzibar as a new born baby, a child of six and then at the age of eleven. This was in the 1950s. I was happy to see a photograph of the Pereira de Lord photographers and fine arts store. I am related to a branch of the de Lord family so saw them during visits on school holidays. I was told that my Grandfather was the Portuguese Council in the early 1950s when he died soonafter. There is no note of the Embassies so I could not track down my ancestars who lived there. Thank you again for bringing back very happy memories of my visits to Zanzibar which seems such a long time ago. However, I would have liked to track down my grandparents who lived there. Barbara

Date: 09 Mar 2005 Comment: 480 The website is so nice I saw and read things which I never expect to hear about with lots of history from the past, as well as history from the European to the Arabs who went and rule the Island... I wish this people would still be there rulings Zanzzibar. But now it seems the people from Mainland (Tanzania) are trying to invade our beautiful Island. I can see that most of the Police Commanders mentioned on the news have got funny names, like the one's from Main Land not originated from Zanzibar. Just 10 years and lots of changes, what about the next decade? Please help our Beautiful Islands.....The Islands are sinking from the present rulers.... HELP HELP :(

Before any comitment need guarantees that the CUF have toned down there xenophobia against so-called "mainlanders". Anyone know if the Zanzibar region of Tanzania is CCM or CUF run, as I do not think we could do business under a bigoted CUF climate including the distablisation of this part of Zanzibar through protracte CUF speratist agitation. Recieve reports of Arabist CUF mobs attacking and murdering "mainlanders" and Black Africans in general. Worried about the security of a number personel has we are a international company and this is reflected amongst some of our most highly trained and valued employees who are African-Americans and Caribbean.Would not want to go down the Saudi route of ex-pat compounds. Date: 24 Jan 2005 Comment: 457 Assalam Aleykum. Just to drop few words to support the comments made by remote user on 24jan 2005. Of course if CCM & CUF really wants peace and stability to our beloved islands (zan/pem) then, they should forget and learn all mistakes done by few uneducated and irresponsible mastermind people who killed mostly innocent arabs and confiscated their properties for no good reason which will last for ever in their heart, any how they should not forget that the day of jurgement will come and everybody will pay the price for what he/she did.
Date: 24 Jan 2005 Comment: 456 Salam Alaykum. First of all i would like to thank the owner of this website for your very hard working to let us know alot of things that we would ever know if it wasnt of this website. But there is some thing that really bothers me and i really need your assistance. Please on the behalf of people of my idea i would like to add this information about ZNP government that was headed by Sheikh Shamte. ZNP government for sure and i am sure was ready to lead our peaceful I sland that had full of every heavenly things in the Planet Earth. My question is.... WHERE WERE THEY DURING THE WHOLE PLAN OF REVOLUTION PLANNED BY IGNORANTS UNSKILLED REVOLUTIONARIES MOSTLY? And ZNP ex-leaders they have to know that every bad thing that happens or going to happen to OUR ZANZIBAR partly is there DAMN FAULT!!!. What we have now between CUFand CCM is what Zanzibar had at that time ZNP and ASP so that is the conciquencies that can be pretended or predicted to happen. The only solution that i think that can finnishes all of that is for people who know the real history and know there mistakes to take over the power and make people partly forget there hate and start over for A BETTER NEW ZANZIBAR. Isha Allah that will happen otherwise we will be still day dreaming. US SONS AND GRANDSONS OF COMRADES THAT MADE MISTAKES OF SUPPOTING THOSE JAHILS LEARNT MISTAKES OF OUR FATHERS AND GRANDFATHERS....AND WE ARE SOMEWHERE LINGER AND IT WILL COME TO A TIME THAT PRECIOUS WILL BE LEAD BY TRUE ZANZIBARIS WITH FULL OF SKILL AND TRUE HEART. Yaa Allah bless those who lost their lives during 1964 killings and the Heroes who tried to bring back true Zanzibar in to the light in 1972!!! Amen!

Date: 15 Jan 2005 Comment: 452 16 JAN 05 DIY-psyops..Strong in their arms weak in their white-sheeted heads, weak spots among the weaker sections of Sudanese society.... For a start ladies and gentlemen stop calling wannabe Arabised Africans, Arabs..it just encourages them, if your got eyes use them! Islam is just an conveient cover in more ways than one, they save their really real fanatisim for murderous de-Africanisation. They hate with a mother of all big H who they are and have been trying to distance themselves from their obvious Africaness for hundreds of years, It seems to be the only point to life for those Northern Sudanese who comically identify themselves as Arabs, sad but true. On the other hand the rest of the vast nation of Sudan is very proud of its blackness, everyones just waiting for those deluded Sudanese fruitloops who have kidded themselves into believing they are Arabs to finnish with the cult of Arab gone bonkers and get a life! Date: 30 Dec 2004 Comment: 447 CALLING ALL CHRISTIANS TANZANIA ANNUAL NATIONAL CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE TO ZANZIBAR 2005 Dear patrons of this website and Tanzania-watchers I just thought I would remmind you that Tanzania is multi-ethnic and multi-faithed incluing Tanzania's Zanzibar region and is not just Muslim and Arab culturally, that said would it be safe for Christians from all over other parts of Tanzania, East Africa and some international representatives to start an annual, regional CHRISTIAN PILGRIMAGE and festival to Zanzibar. What would the Arab-wannabe bigots of the CUF who are obsessive in stiring up hate against Black African "mainlanders" (even if they are Muslim) say! or dose this website belive there is room for only one religion... Islam and one race... Arab in Zanzibar! I propose, 1 an annual "mainlander" led Muslim pilgrimage and festival to Zanzibar (CUF's Hamad would turn on his walking stick!) 2 an annual Christian pilgrimage and festival to Zanzibar. 3 an annual Multi-faith/traditional African pilgrimage and festival to Zanzibar. 4 a huge international festival dedicated to celebrating Pemba's and Unguju's African heritage. 5 Traditional African laws to be incorparatedand administered in Zanzibar. *mainlander..... xenophobic and seperatist term coined by Arabist/Islamic CUF and other Arab supremecists to dubb Black Africans present in Zanzibar (even if Muslim) and other parts of Tanzania.

Anyway don't really have a disire to visit as have quite a few other countries well in front of this one to see first although looks a pleasent place to stay. and not sure what all this waffle is about Allah in alot of posts, cant people just say, nice website keep up the good work withought bringing millions of blessings in to it. I'm sure as a Christian if I was to bless everything I did I would get some quite queer looks. Still a nice web site, keep updating it, it makes an interesting read. AUFO8MYCOW

Date: 21 Dec 2004 Comment: 439 Over to you Comment No.438. Sadly the Arabs ruled the Africans for over 1000 years and exported an estimated 100,000 of us as slaves. Indeed it was one of the worst forms of inhumanities. At the same time we should not forget that the Europeans as well ruled the African for ONLY 300 year and managed to export over 6,000,000 African slaves. If Arab slavery was evil, White slavery was even worse ! MOHAMED A EBRAHIM...mohosman104@hotmail.com
Date: 14 Dec 2004 Comment: 438 While the sight has been most helpful in my research and I was overjoyed to see pictures of Zanzibar I was surprised that you described it as ". The peaceful tolerance of diverse peoples, which was always a feature of Zanzibari". Was it so tolerant when 100,000 African slaves were shipped through Stone Town? Was that part of the tolerance? Was the tolerance that one ethnic group, a minority, ruled the african people for 1000 years? Not sure about that. if you have any ideas email me sfrantzman@hotmail.com

Date: 11 Oct 2004 Comment: 417 How dare does the writer of 413 compare Nelson Mandela to a pyscopathic thug, on behalf of my fellow South Africans, and the world who admire and revere a truely great man I ask you to apologise.
Date: 10 Oct 2004 Comment: 416 Reading the post by the admirer of John Okello brought to mind the quote from the great CLR James "What does he know of cricket who only cricket knows?" Then again I thought more aptly "what does he know of Zanzibar who only Zanzibar he does not know". This probably totally wasted on you, but as a fellow human being I find it difficult to see you as a lost cause, one day you may wake up and the hate that consumes you will be gone, and objectivity will be your principle foundation for analysis. I assume you live in Britain, perhaps you should spend some time reading the BNP of NF web sites, you will find kindred spirits there. Sadly they will not let you join. I wish you well and perhaps one day you will visit Zanzibar and meet Zanzibaris and enjoy and learn from the experience and perhaps know a bit more than just cricket. Unguja ni njeema atakaye aje.
Date: 10 Oct 2004 Comment: 415 Very interesting idea about the web site dedidicated to the great Zanzibari John OKello (MHRIH). Unfortuntately your ignorance is laid bare, he was from Uganda. He was so well loved by the new Government following the revolution he was given 24 hrs to leave Zanizbar by the Late First President of Zanzibar Abeid Amaan Karume. Grow up, learn some history or better still fly away.
Date: 08 Oct 2004 Comment: 414 Just like to say how much I love Zanzibar it's my second favourite place in Tanzania after Mombasa but my favourite night club is in Stone Town because in my opinion Zanzibar has the best beer in Tanzania! U GET ME BRO?
Date: 08 Oct 2004 Comments: 413 ATTENTION: Thinking about starting a website dedicated Tanzania's Mandela, FMJO so do any accademics or Tanzania-watchers rather than knee-jerk Arab-sentimentalists (you know who you are) know of any books or films about Zanzibar's John Okello? MORE BAD NEWS FOR AFROPHOBIC ARAB TERROR AND THEIR AFRICAN ARABIZED FLUNKIES: African Human Rights actvists in the UK will launch a campaign to bring to justice the British based Sultan of apartheid-Zanzibar for crimes against humanity. AND MORE: Civil groups have voted to set up both a British and Caribbean CCM branches to counter the activities of the shadowy "Westminster Foundation for Democracy's" funding of the pro-Arab pro-secessionist CUF.

Date: 06 Oct 2004 Comment: 410 Death by stoning true story, When I was young and living in Shangani my Grandmother had a cat called Simba, it was a beautiful Ginger Tom. I left Zanzibar when I was 7, but all the years I remembered Simba. When I returned 16 years later, I asked my Grandmother what happened to Simba. To my horror I foud out that he was stoned to death. I know who did it, and he will come to pay for it before the Almiighty when we are all held to account.
Date: 06 Oct 2004 Comment: 409 FMJO......... U will never accept the truth as may be u were part of those bullshit masters who organized what happened years ago to bring people of the zanzibar islands to become now poorest in the world and yet u call freedom....... bull shit................
Date: 05 Oct 2004 Comment: 408 SUPERSTITIONS AMONG THE BELGIUMS. Underneath the self-proclaimed liberal nice guy country of Holland who's creepy natives gave the world Apartheid terror, lies Belgium, a pygmy sized country full of 7 foot tall Africans! The escapist charms of Belgiums make them 'colourful' characters indeed! The murderous Belgiums and their king Leopold (a pre-Hitler Hitler) while ravaging Rwanda with imperial terror used the ideology of 'divide and rule', behind this lay bizarre racist scientific superstitions that they the Belgiums thought they looked like 7 foot tall Africans. Thanks to a sickly cocktail of murder, invasions, war, concenstration camps, media blackouts, demonisation, Hutu witch hunts, Hutu-haters Rakiya Omaar (sister of rageh the scud stud) and indignant Irish tribesman Fergal Keane, Blairs New Labour government of Britain, the USA, Western Interests and their very own murderous blue eyed black skinned boy Kagame and an elite bunch of cattle owning supremacists, to this day Rwandan is ruled by 7 foot tall Belgium lookalikes! But one question has always remained...exactly which Belgium species, the tall blonde blue eyed Dutch speakers or the short stocky hirsute swarthy French speakers? THE REFORMER 06/10/04

Date: 25 Sep 2004 Comment: 404 "those paradise days when zanzibar was under the rule of the Sultans"........yet again another touchy feely sentimental bullshit post, get a grip on reality you Arab-supremsist fruitloop! FMJO forever
Date: 24 Sep 2004 Comment: 403 Great job done by this clever webmaster. Most of the people who are about 40-45 years now and lived in zanzibar/Pemba could recall their memory by seeing alot of pictures/history of those paradise days when zanzibar was under the rule of the Sultans. Very sadly now to see most of the ancient buildings have become like abundent ruins by the current officials. any comment : babuchi@gawab.com
Date: 21 Sep 2004 Comment: 402 I have visited this site often to look to see what I missed prior. Each time I find something new and interesting. As time permits I draw myself back to see what I may have missed and see if there is anything new. I see new photos, I have seen them once before not on this site, but maybe on a postcard.....Just wanted you to know you really have done a great job on this site. NMR
