FrontLook Site Search Engine Tips

FrontLook Site Search Engine allows you to perform a Boolean or a exact match search for one or more words in the pages in the selected search area. Only your local web site is searched.

Boolean Search
If the "Boolean" radio button is selected (default), the FrontLook Site Search engine only returns pages that include all of your search terms. There is no need to include 'and' between terms. You can use the words 'and' or 'or' in your search line as Boolean operators. When no operator is specified, 'and' is assumed.

For example, the search words

   driver download

will produce the same results as

   driver and download

You can use any combination of and/or operators. For example:

   driver and download or upload
or
driver or updates or download or upload

Note: The conditions are always evaluated from left to right. Brackets and quoted words are not supported.

Exact match
If the "Exact Match" radio button is selected, all the and/or operators are ignored and pages are searched for the exact string specified. For example the string

   driver or download

will initiate a search for the exact string "driver or download" and not for the words 'driver' or 'download'.

Capitalization
FrontLook Site Search Engine searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be treated as lower case. For example, searches for "george washington", "George Washington", and "gEoRgE wAsHiNgToN" will all return the same results.
